We are seeking an experienced Chief Estimator to lead our estimating department and support continued growth across commercial electrical projects throughout WASHINGTON STATE & OREGON. The ideal candidate is a strategic leader with deep knowledge of electrical construction, strong analytical skills, and a proven ability to guide teams in delivering accurate, competitive, and timely bids.
Key Responsibilities
• Direct and manage the full estimating process for all electrical projects, from conceptual budgeting to final competitive proposals.
• Review project plans, specifications, and RFP documents to determine scope, pricing strategies, and risk assessments.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to estimators and junior team members.
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost breakdowns using industry-standard software.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, general contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Develop and refine estimating procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and department performance.
• Collaborate closely with project management, engineering, and executive leadership to support project handoff, forecasting, and business development.
Qualifications
• 8+ years of electrical estimating experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or chief role.
• Strong understanding of NEC, local codes, commercial electrical systems, and construction practices.
• Proficiency with estimating platforms or similar tools.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing estimating team.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced contracting environment.
