Where a normal PFD has about 16 lbs of floatation for adults the High Float has 22 lbs. In water that is moving the 16 is fine but in white water the bubbles make the water less dense and you need more floatation. It is bad when you mouth and nose aren't high enough out of the white water to breath!!!
I bought this new and used it for white water kayaking. The vest has a "crease" that allows folding the lower section of the vest to fit the kayak spray skirt better.
