PLEASE NOTE:
This Drone (when using a standard battery) weighs less than 250 grams and may be exempt from certain FAA Part 107 requirements.
Here is a brief summary of those requirements:
All unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) under 250 grams must still comply with the operational rules of FAA Part 107 if they are used for commercial purposes. However, if flown strictly for recreational purposes, they are exempt from registration but must follow other safety guidelines.
FAA Part 107 Regulations for UAS Under 250 Grams
General Applicability
• Part 107 applies to all small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) weighing less than 55 pounds, including those under 250 grams (0.55 pounds).
• Drones under 250 grams are not exempt from operational rules but have specific exceptions regarding registration.
Registration Requirements
• Commercial Use: If a drone under 250 grams is used for commercial purposes, it must be registered with the FAA, regardless of its weight.
• Recreational Use: Drones under 250 grams flown strictly for recreational purposes do not require registration.
Operational Rules
• Flight Restrictions: All UAS, including those under 250 grams, must adhere to the following:
• Fly within visual line of sight.
• Stay below 400 feet above ground level (AGL).
• Avoid flying in controlled airspace without prior authorization.
• Yield to manned aircraft.
Flight Over People
• Drones under 250 grams are classified as Category 1 for operations over people, meaning they can fly over people without additional documentation, provided they do not have parts that could cause injury.
It is the responsibility of the buyer to become familiar with all FAA regulations regarding UASs; and fully comply as appropriate.
