I do builds and repairs for old style tube amplifiers, primarily Fender and Marshall, but have experience on a variety of others including Magnatone, Silvertone, Peavey, SWR. As a result of my builds I have too many amplifiers and it’s time to part company with a few.
1 - Hot Rod Deluxe 2 Overdrive Special (HRD2ODS). This is a converted Hot Rod Deluxe that is now a Dumble style clone. 50 watts with a EVM 12L speaker. Really an incredible amp that would allow you to explore a Dumble style amplifier at a reasonable price. Sounds great with any guitar you plug in. About all it needs is a Reverb, and maybe a Delay. It has a loop. Price is $1300.
2 - Fender Deluxe Reverb clone - This is a AB763 Black Face clone. Hand wired, top shelf components and sounds great! These are about 22 watts and this one has a Warehouse American Vintage G12C speaker. Amp is dialed in and ready to gig. (around 1/2 of Fender hand wired). This one has a mid boost added (on the back) for the Normal and Vibrato channel. Also has a set of Fender tilt back legs. Price is $1700 (around 1/2 of Fender hand wired).
3 - Mesa Boogie Rosette Acoustic Amp (didn’t built this one). This is a 200 watts 2 channel acoustic amp, that in addition to guitar (or other instrument) that can be used as a PA for your vocals at the same time. Great for solo shows in small venues. Amp has a 10” + a tweeter. Also has built in effects including Reverb, Chorus, etc. In basically new condition. Price is $500.
In addition to these amps, I’ll also have a 5E3 Tweed Deluxe clone, and a Tweedle D (Dumble modified 5E3) for anyone interested. These are my personal, but if you’re looking for one, happy to build it for you at a very reasonable price. Fixed price for the build dependent on amp complexity + parts at cost. I’m head over heels on these Tweeds, and if you play through one you’ll see what I mean. They’re absolutely killer. For a Tweedle D - there’s recent YouTube video of JD Simo playing through a Tweedle D he recently acquired. With his playing, unbelievable!
If you go to YouTube and search on “Anthony Rosano need for tweedle” you’ll find a demo of one of my 5E3’s. Anthony is a working musician and also uses 2 of these in his live rig.
I will have these amps for you to checkout (play through) at The Musicians Gear Exchange on -
Sunday, May 17th, at the Emerald of Siam from 2:00 - 6:00 PM.
In addition to the amps, I’ll bring a minimal pedal board, a Power Station attenuator.. (most can get really loud when pushed), and a couple guitars. If you’re interested, strongly suggest you bring one of yours.
I also offer tube amp repairs and kit build services if you’re looking for something available from one of the many amplifier kit vendors. There are a few of my builds floating around the Tri-Cities now and have several folks you can ask about my work and how these amplifiers perform and sound.
