As our Kennewick and Spokane offices continue to expand, we are seeking a professional, detail-oriented Paralegal/Legal Assistant to join our personal injury team.
This position is an integral role within the firm and offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys, clients, and third-party professionals throughout all stages of a personal injury matter. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who demonstrates strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.
The successful candidate will possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, as this role requires frequent interaction with clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, opposing counsel, and court personnel. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities are essential. Prior experience in a legal setting, particularly in personal injury, is preferred but not required, as the firm is committed to training and mentoring the right candidate who demonstrates initiative, professionalism, and a willingness to learn.
Church Page & Gailan PLLC operates in a highly technological environment and utilizes Microsoft Office and legal case management software. Candidates must be comfortable working with technology, maintaining electronic case files, and adapting to new software systems as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain complete, accurate electronic and physical case files in compliance with firm policies, court rules, and legal standards
Monitor and track deadlines, statutes, hearings, and key case dates to ensure timely filings and task completion
Prepare, file, and organize court documents, pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and legal correspondence
Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys, including case preparation, legal research, issue spotting, and records management
Conduct client intake and interviews, gather and organize case information, and provide consistent, professional case updates
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and communicate professionally with insurance adjusters, medical providers, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses
Request, track, review, and summarize medical records, billing statements, employment records, and other documentation essential to case development
Assist with settlement preparation, including demand packages, negotiations support, and settlement documentation
Support preparation for hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials, including exhibits, witness lists, and trial notebooks
Perform accurate data entry and provide administrative and operational support to attorneys as needed
Stay current on applicable laws, regulations, and court procedures impacting litigation and personal injury matters
Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold ethical and professional standards at all times
