They have rechargeable batteries, and it's supposed to be able to run for 12 hours before it needs to be recharged. The USB cord for recharging it is in the box along with a 12 color remote control and instructions. I have one and it's really cool! These are ones I bought as gifts and didn't use.
You can use the remote or touch the top of the light to change colors from one to rotating through all of them; the speed at which they change; or set it to fladhing/blinking mode. This light does a lot of different things. It creates a rose pattern on the surface around it, and it's quite pretty. Makes a great gift that will be enjoyed for years to come!
