You can use the remote or touch the top to change colors, change it from one color to have it slowly change colors. You can also change the speed at which they change or put it into blinking mode. This light does a lot of different things. It makes a great gift. It creates a rose pattern on the surface around it, and it's quite pretty. *I also have this info a 6" size for $7 if you are interested.

It is new in the box. The remote comes with a coin size lithium battery.
