Our key programs, Home Care Services, Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels, and Healthy Ages, provide vital support to seniors and families, helping them maintain independence and dignity in their homes.
We are currently seeking an Accountant to support the organization’s overall financial integrity through accurate, timely accounting operations and strong internal controls that safeguard organizational assets.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and 1099 reporting
Manage accounts receivable, billing, collections, and contract-compliant invoicing
Ensure accurate cash receipting, deposits, and reconciliations
Support payroll processing through report review and reconciliations
Maintain fixed and capital asset tracking and GAAP-compliant accounting
Maintain the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Assist with annual operating and capital budgets
Serve as liaison for internal and external financial audits
Design and monitor internal controls to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and nonprofit financial regulations
Communicate financial information clearly with leadership and departments
Uphold agency mission, policies, and confidentiality standards
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–5+ years of professional accounting experience, including month-end close and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Experience with accounting, payroll, and financial management systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail
